Does RemoteQuote require mobile data?

A RemoteQuote session uses HD video, however it is compressed. Data usage and size can vary but as a benchmark, a 60 minute video can average up to 1.2 GB.

How much data could RemoteQuote use?

As the stream uses HD video but with compression, expect a full 60 minute video to range in size and data usage but can be a average maximum of up to 1.2 GB

Is there an App?

Yes there is an app but this is only used for your client or customer. Your business uses a web portal that has greater functionality built in. The web portal is responsive so you can use it on a smart device if you need too, but for the best experience we recommend using your computer or laptop.

Do you need an internet connect to use RemoteQuote?

Yes, both yourself and your client must have an internet connection to conduct a session.

How long can a session go for?

Sessions are capped at 60 minutes.

Can I download the video after the session?

Yes. After the session has concluded you can navigate to the session details where you can download the video and any HD images that were captured at the time. Please note: the video will be removed after 48 hours unless you have purchased additional storage. Downloading any files will incur normal data charges applied by your service provider.

Can I recover the video after the 48 hr expiry period?

No. The video is deleted from the server side. There is no way to retrieve a video after the 48 hour period.

Does my client need to pay for RemoteQuote as well?

No, the app is free for your client to download and use. Please aware that it will utilise some data to upload the video, similar to any other video app.

Can I have a trial period?

We currently do not offer a trial period as RemoteQuote is extremely affordable, only $14.95 for the base package and our service has no lock-in contract and free cancellation at anytime. Discounts apply to per annum subscriptions.

How do I use the measurement tool?

Once you have a connected session with your client and you wish to utilise the measurement tool, you simply ask them to click on the ruler icon to change the device to AR mode. From there you can direct your client to use the tool to establish the AR planes so they can commence taking appropriate measurements. They should go through the process of slowly moving the phone around so that the surroundings can be mapped and registered to get the best results. Please watch the short videos to get the best out of the AR measure tool as it is evolving technology.

What is AR?

Augmented reality (AR) is the real-time use of information in the form of text, graphics, audio, and other virtual enhancements that works with real-world objects to facilitate various usages.

Can I send a customer a quote from my portal?

Yes, you will be able to produce and send quotes directly from RemoteQuote to your client with required images attached for reference.

Does the quote have my branding and contact details?

Yes, your quote can be fully personalised.

How reliable are the measurements?

AR is an emerging technology and in the right environments it is accurate, however the quality of results depend upon the environment (poor light, reflective surfaces, distance etc) and the user. So we recommend that the measurement tool be used to attain good approximate measurements, generally sufficient for a quote, but if you require precise measurements you will need to have the client use a tape or do a confirmation site visit, but at least you will know you have the job by then.

Will the measurement tool work in all scenarios?

As above, this technology is evolving very quickly, but still has some challenges in various circumstances. It is generally great on textured surfaces or where there are distinct object changes, but smooth reflective surfaces can be problematic, such as flat white walls.

Do I need to sign up to use the App?

No. The app runs of links that are provided by the Company or Business that has contacted you about using the service. Once a link is received you will be asked to download the app (for the first time) then you can join the session. If you already have the app you can use it to join any active session link sent to you from the Company or Business.

Does the App use Mobile Data?

Yes. As a video streaming service the app requires a Mobile (4G/5G) or Wi-fi data connection. Normal data usage costs apply based on your service provider.

Videos are stored by the Company/Business. You cannot access the Video from the app but you can request the Streamer to send you the file after completion.
